As We Are Tearfund, we want to go on a journey of justice with young people and youth workers. We want to champion youth workers in continuing to deliver amazing youth work to the young people they work with. We do this through two formats – youth panel days and catch up calls. The panel days are for youth workers to bring young people they want to invest in and co-create spaces for justice as part of their youth work. They will involve the following:

  • Teaching: This will give us biblical context for justice and why we do what we do.

  • Practical seminars: These are a place to really flesh out what justice looks like, as well as a space to dream and vision for our churches, community and world.

  • Discussion groups: These are spaces where youth leaders and their young people can talk about how to put what they’ve learnt and discussed in to practice in their context.

The phone calls in between panels are regular spaces for support from the Tearfund youth team. They are also a space to have a more in depth discussion with youth workers on the panel, to champion, pray and share best practice as they journey with their young people,  as well as places to discuss what justice looks like on a 1-2-1 level.

At the end of the year we’ll throw a celebration event in Birmingham. This is a massive party to celebrate young people and the actions they have taken on behalf of our global family and will helped to be shaped by the panel.
